Over the weekend, several hacker groups have been busy targeting police websites.

First, the Portugal Cyber Army and HighTech Brazil collectives – the ones that reported having breached the Dubai International Airport a few days ago – claim to have penetrated the official website of the Hong Kong Police Force.

IllSecure.com informs that the hackers have leaked email addresses, encrypted passwords and IP addresses allegedly taken from police.gov.hk.

The second targeted police site belongs to the Halton Regional Police Service.

Two hacker collectives, the linuXploit_crew and the Brazilian Cyber Army, have published around 30 @haltonpolice.ca email addresses and associated password hashes, which they have allegedly stolen from the webmail section of the Halton Police website.

In both cases, the information appears to be legitimate, but it’s difficult to say for sure, considering that such data leaks can be easily faked.
