StratSec, one of the leading providers of information security consulting and testing in Australia is planning to launch a service that will help organizations detect hacking attempts and one that will act as a cyber defence school for employees and security professionals.

SC Magazine informs us that the purpose of the service is to reinforce protection systems from within a company by first collecting precise data on the client's network architecture and configuration.

The Australian Cyber Intrusion Management (AusCIM) is the tool that will monitor and protect client companies against anything that might come from the online world, making good use of Australia’s malware monitoring center, which will provide additional information on the possible threats.

To improve the chances of a proper detection, all the data obtained by AusCIM will be given to other companies that will analyze it and issue an opinion based on the readings.

AusCIM, which is managed by 20 expert analysts from all over Australia, “draws upon heuristics from a global network – it’s as much about learning and analysing data as it is about the tools,” according to Deputy Head of Capability Steve Di Cola.

Another service that will be offered by StratSec is represented by the training opportunities meant to improve the protection measures taken in certain key departments of an organization.

Social engineering and APTs have been the main concern so far and an educated staff could better handle such situations.

Security professionals can also benefit from the company's offering as they'll be able to attend courses related to things such as penetration testing and reverse-engineering.

Adelaide Security Operations Centre will act as a training facility for the future students where they'll be able to make and observe simulated attacks, to get a better understanding of how things work.

The cyber academy and the powerful detection tool will be available soon, right after a few discussions between the company and its future customers.
