Microsoft has again become victim of a successful DNS hijack attempt, this time in Kenya. Bangladeshi hacker TiGER-M@TE managed to break into the servers hosted by Nairobi-based Footprint Computer Solutions and change the DNS settings of several high-profile websites belonging to Google, Kaspersky, Western Union, Dell, and Microsoft.

According to a report published by CIO East Africa, the domains were then redirecting users to a separate website telling them that the aforementioned pages had been hacked.

While Microsoft hasn’t issued a statement on the matter, the aforementioned source reports that several websites belonging to the Redmond-based technology giant got hacked, including Skype.co.ke, msn.co.ke, bing.co.ke, and Microsoft.co.ke.

In addition, domains owned by Google (google.co.ke), Dell (dell.co.ke), and Kaspersky (kaspersky.co.ke) also got hit by the attack.

At this point, the original DNS settings of all websites have been restored and the pages no longer display the successful hijack message.
