Don't you love it when
RPG and
RTS shake hands and the result is a new game? If you do then you should know that the next RPG/RTS comes from Bulgarian Dagger Games and it's named Dimensity. Scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008, the game will reveal a complex tale of honor, loss and betrayal in a
fantasy
world.
Dimensity will offer both single player campaigns, with two races (humans and triends) to choose from and a "massive" storyline and, it seems, only a PvP multiplayer, where up to three gamers can compete against each other.
Hristo Velchev, Managing Director of Dagger games, said: "Through all of these years of development we put a lot of effort and emotion in this title and I am very pleased 'Dimensity' will be introduced worldwide by PlayLogic. We believe our collaboration will be a good starting point for a long time partnership. We hope people who play our game will enjoy it as much as we did creating it."
When it comes to the game's resources, one should know from the start that you won't lose your time collecting many types of them... actually, there's only one, and that is gold, which must be looted from dungeons complexes beneath the battlefield. Regarding the units, we will have a wide range of them, from ordinary swordsmen to flying transport ships. Uhm... did anybody say "transport ships"?
Dagger seems to follow the concept "keep it simple", since the two playable races will be completed by only two character types - mage or fighter - who can command up to 16 members in a party. Also, various unlockable extra maps will be available and experience points will be awarded to the player both in the single, as well as multiplayer mode.
