HWiNFO32/64 reached version 4.0 today. Although it is a major release, given the nature of the application, new features are not likely to abound. Instead, there are plenty of improvements available.

Enhancements touch on enumerating SATA drives and USB ports and devices, SMART status reporting and sensor monitoring across Standby/Resume phases. On the same note, sensor monitoring has been improved for various components (Sandy Bridge and later CPUs, ASUS P8H61-I and ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX).

New additions include reporting of driver information for major devices (PCI, USB, GPU, audio, network), support of SMSC LPC47M534 sensor and AMD Bonaire and Oland cards.

HWiNFO 4.0 also brings to the table updated reporting of shader count on AMD Southern Islands and London series GPUs.
