This Fall, Redmond-based software giant Microsoft will bring to the market a new mobile operating system version, dubbed Windows Phone Mango, which promises far more features and performance capabilities than the previous platform release was capable to pull off.

Among these, we can count the inclusion of a new mobile browser into the mix, namely Internet Explorer Mobile 9 (IE9), which, apparently, can perform faster than the mobile browsers in competitive platforms out there.

In the video embedded below (via WMPoweruser) you will be able to see how IE9 in Windows Phone Mango, which comes with HTML5 capabilities in tow, beats the iOS 5, BlackBerry and Android at ease.

This week, Microsoft showcased some of the capabilities of Windows Phone Mango during the Worldwide Partners Conference in Los Angeles, and this is where the demo below comes from.

In the video, you will see how the BlackBerry Torch, the Samsung Droid Charge, the iPhone 4, and an unnamed HTC smartphone running under Mango can perform in the same test.

The demo renders a 3D fish with the ocean in the background, all delivered using HTML5 technology.

The BlackBerry device delivered the lowest performance levels, hitting only 9FPS, while the Android-based Samsung device topped 20FPS. The iPhone 4, which was loaded with the latest beta release of iOS, was capable of delivering only 14-16FPS.

In comparison, the Windows Phone Mango-powered HTC device managed to squeeze 50FPS, performing far better than what competitors could deliver.

At the moment, Microsoft's mobile operating system is the leader when it comes to HTML5, but that does not mean that the aforementioned mobile platforms won't see upgrades to boost the performance users can benefit from.

In addition to offering a much better Internet browsing experience than before, Windows Phone Mango should bring along other improvements and new features as well when made available on shelves later during the ongoing year.
