Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new quad-core smartphone in the One series, one that would land as the successor of HTC One X.

The smartphone has emerged online in a series of benchmarks with model number PM63100 attached to it, while being called Evitareul, close to Evitare, the name of HTC One X’s LTE flavor.

GLBenchmark results show that the new model performs much better than both the international version of One X and the LTE-enabled flavor of the device for the US market.

The handset is expected to land on shelves with a 1.7GHz application processor inside, and might even feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when released, although it is currently based on Android 4.0.4.

If released in the United States, the new device could land on shelves at AT&T, yet no official confirmation on the matter has emerged so far.
