The partnership between HTC and Dropbox has just been officialized. Well, kind of, as the Taiwanese handset manufacturer made a short mention of the partnership on its official Facebook account.

Rumors about a possible collaboration between the two companies emerged a few months ago when HTC confirmed that the HTC Rhyme would be delivered with 3GB of storage offered by Dropbox, in addition to the 2GB of free storage that the company offers all mobile phone owners.

According to HTC, starting this week, all new Android smartphones launched by the Taiwanese handset maker will come pre-installed with a Dropbox app, offering users no less than 5GB of storage for free.

It is unclear what will happen with current owners of HTC devices, but there's a high chance they would be getting the same deal.
