Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is reportedly getting ready for the launch of a new flavor of the HTC One smartphone this year, one that would pack upgraded hardware inside.

According to a recent article on Pocket-lint, the company is considering making some radical changes to the hardware internals of the smartphone, though specific info on the matter has yet to emerge.

Chances are that the upgraded device would rock a Snapdragon 800 processor instead of the Snapdragon 600 one packed inside the current model, but nothing has been confirmed until now.

However, it would not be the first time that HTC makes such a move. Last year, the company released an updated version of the flagship HTC One X, namely the HTC One X+, which included a better processor and camera capabilities compared to the original.
