On Friday, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation officially unveiled plans to launch its HTC Butterfly flagship device on the Indian market by the end of this month, and some more info on the handset’s pricing is now available.

Apparently, the device will be launched there with an MRP of Rs 49,900 ($926 / €694), which would make it one of the most expensive devices in the country.

However, the street price of the phone is expected to be lower, at Rs 45,000 ($835 / €626), which would bring it in line with Apple’s iPhone 5, but which might still hurt sales. The handset packs a 5-inch full HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top.
