HTC rumored to unveil Desire HD, Android tablet, and/or Windows Phone 7-based HD3 on Sept 15th

Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC announced a while ago plans to host a press event in London on September 15, but did not unveil specific details on what it plans on announcing there. However, various rumors on the matter already emerged, suggesting that the company might unveil its first Windows Phone 7 device there, or that it would launch an Android tablet at the event.

It seems that HTC too caught the Android tablet PC frenzy, and that it should pretty soon join hands with other companies which already unveiled such devices, including Samsung, Dell or LG.

Moreover, the handset vendor is rumored to plan the launch of a new mobile phone running under Google's mobile OS at the event, namely the Desire HD, which would be based on the Android 2.2 Froyo flavor of the platform.

However, rumor has it that the main attraction of the event would be the HTC HD3 device, with runs under Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 OS, and which was said not too long ago to have been renamed to HD7.

While it is rather hard for us to believe that HTC would plan on making a Windows Phone 7 device official before October, since Microsoft announced that this would be the month when the new OS comes to the market, we'll still have a look at what was rumored for the device to include.

Thus, we should see HTC launching a 4.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen phone that boasts a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, while being powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz ARM-based application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM.

Moreover, the device is expected to include 32GB of built-in memory, to which users would be able to add up to 32GB of external storage via microSD memory cards.

4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HDMI-out are also included in the mix, as well as an 8-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash and HD video recording capabilities.

According to a recent article on smarthouse.com.au, the upcoming mobile phone should be powered by an 1800mAh battery, while sporting the codename of 6HTHD7XM.

For what it's worth, it sounds like this smartphone would be the actual superphone that Nexus One was once rumored to be, though it remains to be seen whether the rumors would pan out or not.

If HTC is indeed set to make the device official on September 15, it shouldn't be too long before more on it emerges, so stay tuned for additional info on the matter.
