HTC and Qualcomm have been working together for a long time now to develop and bring out on the market the most evolved smartphone solutions. The fact that Qualcomm has provided their latest dual-core chipsets has also played an important part in making this
possible.
HTC considers the success that its latest device has managed to achieve to be the result of their partnership with Qualcomm. In fact, chipsets play a pretty important part in the development of evolved handsets. By the end of 2007,
HTC will have launched more than 10 devices running on dual-core solutions from Qualcomm's MSM7xxx-series platform. Some of the smartphones already available include the Mogul by HTC, HTC 6800, HTC 5800 and HTC TyTN II.
"Qualcomm is pleased to continue our long relationship with HTC with these latest innovative devices utilizing our industry-leading mobile broadband and multimedia technologies", said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm. "Our MSM7200 chipset, powering the latest UMTS Smartphones from HTC, will prove to be as compelling a combination as our previous successes with the popular MSM7500-based HTC 5800 and 6800 CDMA2000 Smartphones that are now shipping across North America", he further added.
The partnership between the two companies has been a long and close one. "Since working first beginning to work with Qualcomm in 1998, the company has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to providing HTC with the most cutting-edge technology in the industry", said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC. "We are pleased to have a close strategic relationship with
Qualcomm and look forward to bringing continued industry-changing devices to market", he also commented on the collaboration.
HTC is the first company that has decided to introduce highly evolved devices based on Qualcomm's latest dual-core chipsets, the Mobile Station Modem (MSM), MSM7500 and MSM7200 solutions. These chipsets are highly flexible and have made it possible for HTC to develop their devices in different form factors for best responding to the customers' needs.
