HTC is not only working on the Nexus 8, but has other slates in the pipeline

HTC has been recently in the news, tablet-wise. Even if the device manufacturer hasn't rolled out a new slate in years, word on the street has it the company is gearing up to launch not only the mythical Nexus 8 tablet but a bunch of other devices from the same category, too.

For the time being, we don’t know for sure what the Nexus 8 will end up bringing to the table when it arrives on the market, but most likely the device will be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, arrive with a high-res display and take advantage of the next Android version, dubbed Android L.

And now, in recent days @evleaks has revealed HTC is prepping two more tablets, aside from the much-anticipated Nexus 8.

According to the sources quoted, the two tablets will be called the T7 and T12, so it makes sense to assume, the first one will be a 7-inch one and the latter will be a larger 12-incher.

HTC has been out of the tablet game a really long time. You might remember, HTC Flyer was one of the first 7-inch tablets out there to ship out with a pressure-sensitive pen, but the tablet didn't prove to be extremely popular with consumers, which is odd. Consider Samsung’s Note series of products is one of the company’s most successful line of devices.

The same @evleaks said the company was also working on a smartwatch, running Android Wear obviously. We also got to take a look at what seemed to be the first official render of the device that showed HTC would be adopting a square design.

Most recently, the watch seemed to be making an appearance in a “behind the scenes” design video. The device was spotted resting comfortably on the desk of a designer working on an image of a car dock.

It’s no mystery that HTC will roll out an Android Wear smartwatch at some point, as the company has appeared on the official partner list when Google first announced the wearable OS.

Nevertheless, this latest news goes against what we told you in late May. Back then the consensus was that HTC will be launching a smartwatch in August, and the device will compete directly will the Moto 360.

But as we can see from the leaked material, it appears HTC won’t be offering a smartwatch with a round display anytime soon.
