Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation won’t launch its flagship HTC Butterfly smartphone in Malaysia.

Responding to user inquiries on when the smartphone would be launched in the country, HTC Malaysia said on Facebook that the smartphone is not planned for release on the local market.

The company also said that HTC J Butterfly, made official in Japan back in October, wouldn’t be released in this country. HTC Butterfly is the international version of this device, previously expected to be called Deluxe.

Furthermore, it also confirmed that the DROID DNA flavor of the device, which was released in the United States on Verizon’s network, wouldn’t be brought to the Malaysian market either.

“HTC J Butterfly is only available in Taiwan and Japan. HTC Droid DNA is only available in America under carrier Verizon. HTC Deluxe is not coming to Malaysia,” the company said in one post.

Update (January 4, 2013): HTC Malaysia has just posted on Facebook that HTC Butterfly would be coming soon to the country.
