Last week, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC unveiled to the world its latest Android-based flagship smartphone, the HTC One, set to be the only such device launched this year, it seems.

Speaking to omio, Phil Roberson, head of HTC UK and Ireland, unveiled that there would be no new device launched with high-end specs in the One-series.

“Last year we had the X and the S, where people had different personal preferences between the two. We just said, let’s just create one flagship device for this year,” he said.

HTC One will arrive on shelves next month with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display, a quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, a 4MP camera on the back with a new UltraPixel sensor, and Google’s latest Android operating system loaded on top.
