For the moment the update is only available in Europe

Shortly after HTC released the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update for the HTC Desire HD and Incredible S, the Taiwanese handset manufacturer made it available for HTC Wildfire S owners as well.

The update has been officially confirmed by the HTC Europe and is currently deployed in several European countries.

However, there is no schedule available for the HTC Wildfire S Gingerbread update, but we recommend owners to check with the company’s Facebook account for the country they live in.

In addition, HTC confirmed that the update also contains the HTC Sense 3.0 lockscreen, but the smartphone will continue to run Sense 2.1, though the differences between the two versions are minimal.

To manually check for the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update simply go to Menu / Settings / About Phone / Software Updates.
