On Sunday, Global designer of smartphones HTC Corporation and Reliance Communications, the largest integrated telecom service provider in India, announced the launch of HTC Wildfire in the country. The new device comes with 3G connectivity options, while also being able to satisfy the needs of GMS users in the country, the two companies announced. Running under Google's Android operating system, the new device boasts HTC's Sense solution, and should offer Reliance Communications GSM customers the possibility to enjoy up to 500 MB of free data access per month for a period of six months.

“Social networks have really caught on the fancy of today’s young generation, who like to stay seamlessly connected with each other even while on-the-go,” said Ajay Sharma, Country Head, and HTC India. “The stylishly designed HTC Wildfire combined with the HTC Sense experience bring all your communication requirements into one place, whether it’s through Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, Flickr, text messages, images or email, ensuring that one is never far away from the conversation and always close to one’s friends.” The HTC Wildfire smartphone is able to offer a rich experience to mobile phone users in India, while also enabling them to stay up to date with their friend's posts, comments, alerts and photos from social networking sites. The handset can also deliver a fast Internet browsing experience through its HTML web browser, in addition to a wide range of other features that HTC has packed inside its Sense user interface.

The specifications list of the new Android-based mobile phone includes a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that can boast a QVGA resolution, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, G-sensor, GPS receiver, Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate, Wi-Fi connectivity, support for HSPA/UMTS dual band (900/2100mhz); GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies, a 1300 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a 528 MHz processor and 512 MB Flash and 384 MB of RAM.
