The smartphone will be available for $200 (143 EUR)

AT&T has just announced the upcoming availability of its first LTE-enabled smartphones, the HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

HTC Vivid is expected to arrive in AT&T stores and online on November and will be available for $199.99 (143 EUR) with a new two-year agreement.

The carrier also announced it will fire up its 4G LTE network to 9 more markets, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, beginning November 6.

However, AT&T plans to expand its 4G LTE network to cover 15 markets and 70 million Americans by the end of the year.

Customers who purchase the HTC Vivid can choose AT&T's DataPlus LTE plan that offers 200 MB of data for only $15 (additional 200 MB available for the same amount) per month or the DataPro LTE plans, which offers users 2GB of data for $25 per month (an additional 1GB of data for $10).

In addition, AT&T offers the DataPro 4GB plan for customers who want to use their HTC Vivid smartphones as a mobile hotspot, for $45 monthly.

HTC Vivid is delivered with a brilliant 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Hardware-wise, the LTE-enabled smartphone is equipped with a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and an enhanced 8-megapixel camera with f2.2 28mm wide angle lens, autofocus, and dual-LED flash.

Furthermore, the phone's camera can record full HD (1080p) videos at 60 frames per second and features slow motion playback, along with on-device trimmer function.

HTC Vivid packs 16 GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32 GB).

The smartphone is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform with HTC Sense user interface on top.

With access to Android Market, users will be able to download and install additional apps to further improve the Android experience.
