The smartphone is expected to be announced at MWC 2012

Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC had a discrete presence at the International Consumer Electronic Show, but promised quite a range of devices at the Mobile World Congress, next month at the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona.

One of the rumored devices that is likely to made its debut in February is the HTC Ville, which will be the first HTC smartphone powered by Google's Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Furthermore, the folks over at Pocketnow have learned that T-Mobile USA will be the first carrier to introduce the HTC Ville. After launching the Titan II Windows Phone device for AT&T, more high-end HTC smartphones are expected to be en-route to other major carriers.

In addition, HTC is likely to introduce several high-end smartphones globally, including a quad-core device called HTC Edge, also known as HTC Supreme.

The HTC Edge should hit shelves at T-Mobile USA sometime this spring, after the initial announcement which is expected to go live next month at Mobile World Congress 2012.

According to Pocketnow, HTC Ville should be equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual core processor and a qHD capacitive touchscreen display. No word on the rear camera, but it should have at least 8-megapixel, as well as autofocus, LED flash and zero shutter lag, courtesy to the Android 4.0 platform.

Alongside the HTC Ville, and possibly other high-end Android devices, the Taiwanese handset manufacturer plans to announce at the Mobile World Congress an interesting service, known as HTC Family.

The folks over at Pocketnow claim that the HTC Family service enables families and loved ones to share personal messages or “coordinate family events”.

The service also includes a 'geolocation' feature that allows users to track one another and post messages inside HTC Family's environment, which apparently can be used for sharing photos, as well as other documents.
