HTC Velocity 4G is a hard to come by Android-based smartphone. Currently, the device is only available in Australia, Germany, South Korea and Germany.

However, it appears that this hasn’t prevented HTC to turn it into one of the first smartphones to receive the highly-acclaimed Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Although HTC has yet to come forward with an official statement regarding the update, several Reddit users have already reported that Android 4.0 for HTC Velocity 4G is now pushed OTA (over the air) in Australia.

Apparently, the update will upgrade HTC Sense UI to version 3.6 and brings all the rest of the features offered by the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

It’s unclear why Aussie HTC Velocity 4G users are the first to get the update, but it’s likely that HTC will push the update to the rest of the countries soon.
