An upgraded flavor of HTC Sync, the desktop application that enables users easily connect their HTC Android phones to a desktop PC, is now available for download.

The new application release, which comes with version 3.0.5557 attached to it, reportedly offers support for all of the HTC Android devices out there, as well as with support for the HTC Smart handset.

The application now supports all of the latest Android-based mobile phones from the Taiwanese handset vendor, as well as older models.

The new HTC Sensation, HTC Flyer, HTC Salsa, HTC Incredible S, HTC Flyer WiFi, or the HTC Wildfire S are included in the list of supported devices, HTC notes.

Moreover, the company lists the HTC Gratia, HTC Desire HD, HTC Wildfire, HTC Desire, HTC Legend, HTC Smart, HTC Tattoo, HTC Hero ( Android 2.1 ), HTC Hero, HTC Magic, HTC ChaCha, and HTC Desire Z as supported mobile phones for the new HTC Sync flavor.

The application is available for download for machines running under Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 clients, and requires an Intel Pentium III or higher processor and at least 1GB of RAM, along with a minimum of 300 MB of available free hard disk space.

To connect the Android-based mobile device to a computer, users will also need a USB cable, as well as Microsoft Office Outlook.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the application will offer them the possibility to easily synchronize contacts, the calendar and other files between the mobile phone and the PC.

“You can use HTC Sync to synchronize Outlook contacts and calendar or Outlook Express contacts (Android & HTC Smart)and the bookmarks of web browser between your computer and your HTC devices(Android only),” HTC explains.

“It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone & tablet, and bring your photos, videos, documents, songs, and playlists to your HTC devices(Android only).”
