Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has released software updates for two more handsets it made available for purchase on the market with Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system on board, namely the HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC HD mini. The same as with the previously released software update for the company's HD2 and Touch2 devices, the new release was aimed at fixing any issues that might be present on these devices with the clock, following Daylight Savings changes.

“This update for HTC HD mini readjusts your clock to account for the hour gained during Daylight Savings,” the company notes on its website. The same is said about the software solution now available for download for HTC Touch Pro2 devices.

Those users interested in downloading and installing the update on their devices would be able to do so through a desktop PC that runs under Microsoft's Windows OS.

“Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista PC. You can find Microsoft ActiveSync from this link or Windows Mobile Device Center from this link,” the mobile phone maker notes on its website.

The HTC Touch Pro2 or HTC HD mini device would then have to be connected to the PC through the USB cable in the retail package. One would have to sync the device with the PC using Microsoft ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center.

The necessary files were made available for download on HTC's support website, here for the HTC Touch Pro2, and here for the HTC HD mini.

As soon as the file was downloaded, it should be copied to the device. “To install the update, tap the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions,” the company notes.

It should be noted that any changes the update makes to the handset would be lost as soon as a hard reset is performed, and one would have to reinstall the solution.

Before proceeding with the installation, you should perform a backup of all data on the handset, so as to make sure that no important files are lost in the process.
