HTC TyTN II, one of the best Pocket PCs out there, is finally available in India, at authorized dealers across the country, for a retail price of 33,000 INR (about $825). Although launched in Europe last year, the device has only now, at the end of March 2008, got the chance to hit the quick-growing Indian mobile market.

Succeeding the first TyTN model, released in 2006 and also considered among the best Pocket PCs at that time (even now being a cool device), the new TyTN II, also known as HTC Kaiser, brings about the same design as the first handset, but it's slimmer and has more evolved features.

Measuring 112 x 59 x 19 millimeters and weighing 190 grams, HTC TyTN II packs a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen with a 240 x 320 pixels resolution and handwriting recognition, a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM, a Qualcomm MSM7200 processor at 400 Mhz, quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA connectivity (for high-speed 3.5G data transfers), Wi-Fi, built-in GPS receiver and A-GPS.

The Pocket PC runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional, hence it features Pocket Office (Word, Excel and Outlook included), Media Player 10 and PocketIE HTML browser. Furthermore, TyTN II comes with email, Instant Messaging, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Java MIDP 2.0, VGA video-call camera and a 3.15 Megapixel photo camera with auto focus and video recording. The handset's battery is a Li-Po 1350 mAh one that should provide up to 6 hours of talk-time and about 400 hours of stand-by time.

Speaking about TyTN II, Ajay Sharma, Country Manager, HTC India, said: "This phone is a perfect match for mobile professionals and advanced mobile consumers on the go who can now benefit from the powerful feature set that the HTC TyTN II offers and the true high-speed mobile access the mobile operators are now offering."
