Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly set to make available for purchase its first Windows Phone 7 devices in early 2011, and it appears that the HTC Trophy would be one of the first handsets to arrive at Big Red.

When making the first Windows Phone 7 handsets official, Microsoft announced that only GSM versions would be launched this year, and that CDMA flavors of these devices will arrive only next year.

The news on HTC Trophy's landing at Verizon in early 2011 comes from a brochure for Microsoft employees, where the handset is touted as being near to arrive on shelves.

According to the said document (leaked on Engadget), the handset should be put on sale with a $199.99 price tag attached to it, upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

Moreover, Big Red is touting the smartphone as coming with a leather case and a car charger included I the package for free.

Not to mention that the mobile phone is said to come at Verizon as a quad band global phone, which means that users will be able to roam on GSM networks when traveling abroad. However, we should note that most of the carrier's devices came with this feature lately.

The specifications list of HTC Trophy would include a 3.8-inch touchscreen display that can boast a WVGA resolution, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities.

In addition to the CDMA support, and global connectivity capabilities, the smartphone also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11n features, as well as with 16GB of internal memory and more.

Of course, there will be a nice range of services included into the mix, as with all the other Windows Phone 7 devices, and support for an increasing range of applications.

It still remains to be seen when exactly would Verizon's customers have the possibility to purchase a Windows phone 7 handset on their wireless carrier's airwaves, so keep an eye on this space for more.
