Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC has announced today the launch of its newly unveiled HTC Touch2 in Malaysia. The new Windows phone comes to users in the country with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, as well as with the services related to it, including the Windows Marketplace for Mobile and the MyPhone backup service.

HTC Touch2 delivers a full touch experience that enables you to do all the things you want on your phone easily. The Touch2 expands HTC’s portfolio of touch-based phones and is focused on delivering an advanced touch experience to a broader group of people. The HTC Touch2 ensures that everything is at your fingertips in a compact design that fits comfortably in your hand,” the handset maker notes.

The new mobile phone comes to the market with a series of enhancements, including the HTC TouchFLO UI that can provide integrated weather updates along with quick touch access to popular applications. The handset also includes great messaging, browsing and productivity capabilities, due to the presence of Windows Mobile 6.5 on it, the company states.

HTC has packed the phone with Internet Explorer Mobile and Opera Mobile, so that users can enjoy a leveraged web browsing experience. Moreover, its email capabilities are leveraged by the Microsoft Exchange synchronization options, which enable users to check on multiple email accounts at the same time. The Adobe Flash support that comes with the re-designed Internet Explorer Mobile allows for Flash video content to be easily displayed on the handset.

The new Windows phone also provides access to the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, a place where users should be able to find an array of applications for their handset. According to the Taiwanese phone maker, the new HTC Touch2 is available for purchase in Malaysia starting today from all authorized resellers. The retail price for the phone has been set at RM 1,599, while the available color options are Lofty Blue and Urban Brown.

I got this as my first PDA wifi phone. The phone is superb, nice, slim and elegent. But HTC Malaysia customer service sucks, and the free gift offered during purchase are all trash... Nobody answered the number 03-55698878...try it for yourself.....
