14 DAY TRIAL // HTC has revealed the mystery phone model that they announced for release some time ago. The smartphone is also known as "the Elf" and is meant to bring an innovative concept for the way that users interact with their mobile phones through touch.
HTC Elf comes with a 2.8 inch touch screen capable of complex functions that highly resemble those seen in iPhone's advertisements. The special feature that HTC brings is that of sliding items and activating the TouchFLO interface.
A wide range of options can be displayed only through a single tap on the display screen. Moreover, Web browsing is also considerably enhanced, due to the possibility of using the touch sensitive functions to scroll through pages. The user can choose between using the finger or the stylus for best navigation performances.
HTC Touch also comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera with macro lens which help best capture still images and video recordings as MPEG4 files too. This means that the smartphone is capable of handling media entertainment objects at high performances. For this, it comes with a 1GB microSD memory card that provides enough storing space for a considerable amount of data.
HTC Touch runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional. This means that it also comes with Microsoft Office Mobile suite and Internet Explorer. Moreover, the smartphone brings its user Push E-mail services, Messenger chat and reliable Internet browsing. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-fi.
With this new phone model, HTC has opened the door to a new level of mobile phone performances that are based on the sense of touch. Although TouchFLO technology and Touch Cube are innovatory concepts, we shall see whether this new release from HTC makes iPhone's glow somewhat fade away, as it has been expected to.
HTC Touch is now available in the United Kingdom for immediate purchase and will also be released at a larger scale sometime later this month in Asia and Europe. A price for this smartphone has not been specified yet.
