Out of the blue, this fresh appearance brings back to life Windows Mobile, making a great impression comparing it to other high-end devices and surely recruiting a lot of fans, especially in Asia, where it is due to be released in a few weeks, but leaving other markets still waiting for it.

Equipped with a more than satisfactory 3.8 inch 65k color touchscreen with a WVGA resolution (480x800 pixels) and a 5 megapixel autofocus, CIF (352x288 pixels) video recording camera, it's already started to gain ground on the more renown competitors. It's powered by a 528Mhz CPU processor, operating with 288 MB of RAM, 512MB ROM with a microSD card; the battery is reported to last six hours of talking time and 450 hours in standby.

All of these plus the Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP, the GPS receiver and 3.5mm jack combined with the really slick design and, not to mention its dimensions (115 x 62 x 12mm) and the 146g, make it a pretty outstanding device. As mentioned above, the operating system is Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional which is a darn good deal for Windows Mobile. HTC have also improved the TouchFlo3D, but without a doubt this phone's biggest plus is the design and the size which match those of the iPhone 3G delivering a sweet surprise to all of us.

The first countries that will display the HTC Touch HD in Asia are Singapore and Malaysia and the prices are set at 730 EUR for Malaysia and 750 EUR for Singapore, adding that the Singapore package contains a 8GB microSD card, thus covering for the price difference.

The mobile market has once again been resurrected by this intriguing and exciting appearance from the semi boring look it had lately.
