HTC has announced the upcoming availability of its Touch Dual Pocket PC in South Korea, via SK Telecom, the largest mobile carrier in the country.

HTC Touch Dual will be commercially available for South Korean users starting mid-July. The retail price of the Pocket PC is expected to be around 600,000 won, meaning about $573 or 360 Euros. The price with an SK Telecom contract agreement was not yet unveiled.

The HTC Pocket PC features both GSM and HSDPA connectivity, but since SK Telecom only offers CDMA and UMTS/HSDPA services, the GSM capabilities of Touch Dual will be worthless in South Korea. However, that's not a bad thing, of course.

HTC Touch Dual is the big brother of HTC Touch, hence it comes in a similar form factor but ads an alphanumeric sliding keypad. First released back in November 2007, the Touch Dual had Windows Mobile 6.0 as its OS, but now HTC has upgraded the Pocket PC to Windows Mobile 6.1, hence South Korea will get it with the latest mobile OS from Microsoft.

Besides WM 6.1, the Touch Dual brings a range of pretty nice features that include a 2.6 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels, 65K colors and handwriting recognition, a TouchFLO User Interface, full HTML browser (Pocket Internet Explorer), email, Pocket Office for viewing, creating and editing documents, Music player with support for MP3 and AAC, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, front-facing secondary camera for video calls, microSD card support and so on. The Pocket PC also packs a Qualcomm MSM 7200 processor that runs at 400 MHz, 128MB of RAM and 256 MB of ROM.

HTC Touch Dual weighs 120 grams and, when not slid, it measures 107 x 55 x 15.8 millimeters. Its 1120 mAh battery is capable of providing up to 5 hours of talk-time and up to 250 hours of stand-by time.
