Wireless carrier AT&T announced a few days ago that it would have two Windows phones available for its users, namely the HTC Pure, which is already available for purchase from the operator, and the HTC Tilt 2 (also known as the HTC Touch Pro2), which was said to come to AT&T's lineup in the following weeks. However, according to the latest news on the Internet, “the following weeks” might actually materialize in the phone's availability with the carrier starting today.

Some internal documents from AT&T (which emerged into the wild via WMExperts) show that the HTC Tilt 2 is expected to become available in AT&T's stock starting October 8. Some of the previous rumors on the device also pointed towards October 8 as being the day when AT&T would see the Tilt 2 in stock, and things might prove true in the end. However, the actual date when users would be able to purchase the phone from AT&T stores is supposedly October 18, only ten days from now.

The Tilt 2, none other than HTC Touch Pro2, which is already available for purchase on the US market via T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon, has been reportedly pushed back by AT&T so as to be launched with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system right from the start. Announced officially on October 5, the handset might be put on sale in the US via various channels starting today, “since the HTC FUZE is sold out and there is pent up demand in B2B,” an AT&T Equipment Brief that emerged on pocketnow shows.

Along with the supposed release date, the newly leaked documents also provide full specifications on the Tilt 2, yet most of you might already know what the device will come along with: a 3.6” WVGA touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, slide out QWERTY, 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroSD memory card slot (32GB), 3.5mm headphone jack, 1500 mAh battery, great email and messaging capabilities, social networking support, and more. Hopefully, the rumors on Tilt 2's launch will pan out, so stay tuned to learn more details on this.
