Verizon is trying to reward its long time subscribers with discounts on various devices more or less attractive.

It appears that the carrier is currently holding a private sale through June 12 where it offers some of its loyal customers the opportunity to purchase the HTC Thunderbolt for as low as $99.99, or obtain the Blackberry Curve for free.

Obviously, the prices include new two-year Verizon agreements and data pack plans. However, only customers who received the exclusive invitation to join this private sale will be able to benefit of consistent discounts for the Thunderbolt.

Many customers who received the invitation in their email inboxes noticed that the price is $50 higher than the cheapest one.

This probably means that they haven't been enough time with the carrier and will only benefit of a lower discount for the Thunderbolt. Rumors suggest that customers should have at least one year with Verizon to receive a better deal.

As a reminder, the HTC Thunderbolt is available via Verizon for $250 with a new two-year contract, which makes this offer an exceptional deal.

Specs-wise, the Thunderbolt is a medium range smartphone, as it features a single 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon processor complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU.

It comes with a large 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

The smartphone boasts a rear 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual LED flash and camcorder (720p), as well as a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video-calls.

Furthermore, the Thunderbolt is equipped with support for Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, YouTube and Android Market, which offers users access to thousands of free apps.

The device is delivered with several 4G LTE optimized apps such as EA’s Rock Band, Gameloft’s Let’s Golf! 2, Tunewiki and Bitbop. Also, the phone's sales package contains a built-in kickstand for easy media viewing.
