HTC Thunderbolt is an old LTE-enabled Android smartphone, which means it’s time to be replaced with new more powerful devices.

To make it easier Verizon Wireless is getting rid of any HTC Thunderbolt stocks surpluses. Starting today, the carrier offer the smartphone for free with a new two-year agreement.

The promotional offer runs through January 26 and is aimed at those who are willing to activate a new line. In addition, Verizon promises customers who purchase the HTC Thunderbolt 50% off extended battery.

According to Verizon’s listing, HTC Thunderbolt is delivered with Android 2.2 Froyo and HTC Sense 2.0 on board.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: 1GHz single core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front facing photo snapper, 4GB storage, 768MB of RAM and microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
