One the most popular Android-based smartphones retailed by Verizon, the HTC Thunderbolt, has been plagued by lots of bugs and issues since launch. The last on the list is in the video recording department.

It appears that the device is suffering from issues related to the sound-recording feature when the camcorder is used.

There have been lots of complaints from Thunderbolt users who reported that they are experiencing muffled audio or no sound at all while watching their recorded videos.

The issue adds to the long list of problems that the Thunderbolt has had in the last few weeks such as the SMS Bug, as well as the Mobile Hotspot and 3G data problems.

However, it seems that things will take a brighter turn for Thunderbolt users, as HTC is aware of the issue and has already identified the problem. This means that a fix is in the works, which will be rolled-out as a software update as soon as it's available.

The fact that a fix is in the works has been confirmed by an HTC official who answered in an email to a Thunderbolt owner that had experienced the camcorder audio problem.

We apologize for your disappointment with the video recorder of the HTC Thunderbolt. We understand the importance of being able to use the advanced features of our HTC smartphones the way they were intended.

Rest assured that we have reported this issue to our development team. Currently this issue is still under analysis. We have yet to determine if the cause is software or hardware related. We have noted that the issue does not appear to happen when using the Qik application for video chat.

While we do not have an ETA yet on when the issue will be resolved, we are working on this matter with due diligence. As soon as we have anything to report about this issue with the HTC Thunderbolt, it will be posted on our website at HTC.com. If you prefer, you may also follow us on twitter or facebook.

Sincerely,

Collrin HTC

Although HTC hasn't disclosed any details regarding the precise release date of the minor update, it is expected to be available by the end of April.
