HTC ThunderBolt, the first Android-based 4G LTE smartphone on Verizon Wireless' network, is now available for purchase through Amazon Wireless for only $129.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The handset was launched on Verizon's airwaves with a price tag of $250 attached to it, but Amazon though that a lower price would certainly make it more appealing than before.

Thus, it lowered the handset to only $129.99 on contract for a limited time, and has just brought the price tag back, so that all those interested in the acquisition of this device would enjoy it.

The off contract price for the ThunderBolt was set at $699.99, but it would certainly be a shame to not use it with a data plan on Verizon's LTE network.

The HTC ThunderBolt 4G for Verizon Wireless was launched as one of the first Android devices in the world to provide support for 4G LTE networks.

On Verizon's airwaves, it should offer fast download speeds for all users, up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless' 3G network.

“With 4G LTE, you'll enjoy simultaneous voice and data capabilities, allowing you to check e-mail, browse the web, download an app, and check directions on Google Maps while on a call,” the carrier notes.

“Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the company's entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.”

The specifications list of this device also includes a 4.3-inch Super LCD multi-touch display, along with a 1Ghz application processor, and an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD 720p video recording capabilities.

It runs under Android 2.2 Froyo, and offers support for Adobe Flash 10.1, and for Google Mobile services, and applications available for download via the Android Market.

The handset includes 8 GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot with a 32GB card inside, Dolby Mobile + SRS WOW HD surround sound, DLNA certification, Wi-Fi with Mobile Hotspot capabilities, and GPS receiver.
