Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced not too long ago that it would bring to the market another handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the HTC Tattoo. The new device was spotted into the wild before, under the name of HTC Click, and now it is getting closer to its availability on the market and has just received a price tag from Expansys.

The retailer lists HTC Tattoo for $469.99 unlocked, a price that might seem quite high for some users, especially since the device has been reported to come as a mid-level phone. Even so, the Tattoo has a price $100 lower than the cost of HTC Hero, which means that it might be even cheaper when available through carriers.

According to HTC Source, there are great chances that the Android-powered HTC Tattoo will come to the United States market via carriers priced $50 less than the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, namely going for only $149. Given the handset's capabilities, the $149 price tag doesn't seem too bad at all, especially since it is the same as the one featured by the T-Mobile G1.

And the specifications list of Tattoo also prove the price tag as being a rather fortunate one. Users that will purchase the phone will enjoy a 2.8-inch resistive QVGA touchscreen display, along with GPS, Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space and more.

There are no details regarding the HTC Tattoo's availability via a US carrier at the moment, yet it is known that the Android phone will arrive in Europe for free on the airwaves of different operators. When it comes to the US, the only handset rumored to come for free would be the Motorola Cliq, which should drop on T-Mobile's lineup in the near future.
