Mobile phone carrier HTC Corporation has released a new mobile application for two of its latest handsets running under Google's Android operating system, namely HTC Sync for Desire S and Incredible S.

The mobile application, available in version 3.0.5517, can be used to easily sync files, calendar entries, contacts and more between the mobile phone and the desktop PC.

Users of Android-based smartphones from HTC should be familiar with the application, though it seems that this release is meant for the aforementioned two handsets alone.

“You can use HTC Sync to synchronize Outlook contacts and calendar or Outlook Express contacts and the bookmarks of web browser between your computer and your phone,” the mobile phone maker notes on its support website.

“It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone, and bring your photos, videos, documents, songs, and playlists to your phone,” the company continues.

The software can be installed on computers with Intel Pentium III processors or higher, and needs 1GB of RAM or higher, XGA (1024 x 768) or higher-resolution graphics card, 60 MB of available free hard disk space, and USB 2.0 connectivity.

It can be used on PCs running under Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, and requires Microsoft Office Outlook 2000, XP, 2003, 2007 and 2010-32bit.

To synchronize the phone with the computer, one would have to install the application, fire it up, connect the handset through the USB cable in the package, select HTC Sync, and then tap Done.

“On the Device panel, you can set your sync options, see your phone's general information, check the used and available space on your storage card, and begin synchronization,” the handset vendor explains.

Additional info on the application can be found on HTC's support website, as well as in the application's Help. You can download the new HTC Sync 3.0.5517 from Softpedia too, via this link.
