Going towards Telus as well

Some more leaked info on T-Mobile's plans for this year made it into the wild, confirming the rumored launch of two mobile phones expected to come to the carrier's users in July, namely the HTC Snap (also known as Dash 3G), which seems to have been slated for release on the first day of that month, and the HTC Touch Pro2 (or the Rhodium), which is reported to come to the market three weeks later, on the 22nd of July.

Most of you should definitely remember that the wireless carrier was reported on Monday to plan on adding to its offering a mobile phone running under the Google Android operating system, though manufactured by the Korean maker Samsung, a device that is supposedly called Houdini. At the same time, other rumors pointed towards a fourth Android phone, the G1 v2 Bigfoot, which, the same as Houdini, should land with the carrier sometime in the fall of 2009.

As for the HTC Snap and Touch Pro2, we learn from related news that they will also go Canadian, as Telus, one of the wireless operators in the country, intends to add them to its offering in the near future. In addition to that, the handsets will both go to the carrier as World Edition phones, as they will support both dual-band GSM and, most probably, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity. When it comes to the rest of the specs, the handsets should include the same capabilities and functionality as their GSM counterparts.

That would include the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system the phones run under, as well as a QWERTY keyboard on each of them, only that Snap features a candybar form factor, while Touch Pro2 comes in a sliding one, while also sporting touchscreen capabilities. At the same time, the Touch Pro2 has also been reported to be eligible for a platform update, so it will go for Windows Mobile 6.5 as soon as the OS hits the market, but we can not say that the same will happen to the Snap.
