Taiwanese mobile-phone maker HTC Corporation promised last year that it would offer its intuitive HTC Sense experience to more of its users out there, and now it has made the solution available for those who own a Touch Pro2 or Touch Diamond2 device. The solution comes in the form of ROM upgrades for each of the handsets, and has been released for those users who live in Europe.

“This ROM Upgrade will let you experience with intuitive HTC Sense interface. Create a perfect phone for you by putting shortcuts to the most important people, web sites, or most used applications right on the home screen. Prioritize your essentials by arranging the tabs of the key phone features to suit your needs,” the handset vendor notes on its support website.

The new ROM upgrades for the Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond2 come in localized versions, depending on the European country users live in. However, they are only generic software updates, which means that any settings or applications delivered by wireless carriers will be lost when performing the upgrade.

The ROM versions for the Touch Pro2 are the following: “Greek: _2.07.482.2; France: 2.07.406; Denmark: 2.07.403.1; Sweden: 2.07.413.1; WWE: 2.07.401.1; Finland: 2.07.414.1; Spain: 2.07.412.1; Portugal: 2.07.410.1; Nordic: 2.07.409.1; Italy: 2.07.408.1; Germany: 2.07.407.1.” The ROM versions for the Touch Diamond2 are the following: “France: 2.53.406.4; Nordic: 2.53.409.3; WWE: 2.53.405.5; Italy: 2.53.408.3; Portugal: 2.53.410.3; Denmark: 2.53.403.5; Nederland: 2.53.404.3; Germany: 2.53.407.6; Spain: 2.53.412.3; Greek: 2.53.482.4; Sweden: 2.53.413.3.”

Those willing to try out the new HTC Sense solutions on their handsets should first make sure that the new ROM version is newer than the one already installed on their handsets. To do so, one will have to click Start > Settings > System tab > Device Information > Version tab, and then write down the ROM version, CPU, and Radio version. At the same time, we should also mention that users should perform a backup of their handsets before installing the ROM upgrade, as all data on the device will be erased, and they might lose important information.

All the necessary details on how to perform the update are available on HTC's support website. Users will also find the new ROM upgrades there, and they should go here to download the software for Touch Pro2, and here for the Touch Diamond2 upgrade.
