A few days ago, HTC brought to the spotlight a new flavor of its already popular HTC Sense user interface, which would be available on the new HTC Sensation smartphone, set to land on shelves in about a month, it seems, namely the HTC Sense 3.0.

Compared to the previous version of the software, the new UI flavor brings a wide range of enhancements into the mix, though it seems that not all of these would be coming to older devices.

In a recent tweet, HTC announced that, due to hardware limitations, older smartphones won't taste the new HTC Sense experience.

“Hi Tom - due to Sense's hardware requirements, only our newest devices (Flyer, EVO 3D, Sensation) will be able to support it,” the company notes in a recent tweet.

This piece of info made the rounds on the Internet all day, only to be followed by another tweet from HTC, which notes that the experience would actually come to these devices, but only partially.

“Clarification: aspects of the latest HTC Sense won’t work on some previous devices. We are working to incorporate other aspects that will,” the second tweet from HTC reads.

Some of the main enhancements included with the new Sense UI would be the fact that the lockscreen is no longer an area where nothing happens. Now, users would be able to launch favorite apps from it, and select it to show weather, new messages, photos, and more.

Sense 3.0 comes with a new homescreen into the mix, and with a feature that enables users flip through various screens in 3D, the same way they would do on the HTC Flyer tablet PC.

The UI also comes with modified widgets, as well as with new applications included into the mix, such as HTC Watch through which users can access the latest, premium movies and TV shows straight from their mobile phones.

For the time being, no specific info on which of these features would arrive on older devices and which won't was unveiled, but HTC would certain announce more in the not too far future so stay tuned.
