Korean handset manufacturer Samsung has recently confirmed that its latest Android-powered smartphone, the HTC Sensation is scheduled for a Q2 release in Asian territories.

The HTC Sensation was officially introduced on April 12, during a special event held in London.

According to Mobile Indian, the Sensation might be available in India sooner than expected, as HTC has confirmed the availability of the device in May or June.

Although the phone is yet to be price-tagged, Indian customers should expect to be required to pay at least Rs. 30,000 upfront for the Sensation.

Anything above this price might prove fatal for HTC India and the Sensation, as the market will also be 'flooded' with Samsung's Galaxy S II around the same date.

However, undercutting the Galaxy S II price does not necessarily mean that the HTC Sensation will overtake the former in sale numbers.

Still, the latest HTC aggressive marketing pricing policy on the Indian handset market indicates that this is one of the main weapons that the manufacturer is using against its competitors.

HTC Sensation is the first to come with the new HTC Sense 3.0 UI, which will only be supported by newer HTC Android smartphones.

The reason behind HTC's decision is the fact that the complex UI has been optimized to work with the next generation processors that power the Flyer and Sensation devices.

The Sensation is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor manufactured by Qualcomm and complemented by the newest Adreno 220 graphical processing unit.

It boasts a large 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and a 540 x 960 pixels resolution, similar to the iPhone 4's.

The device packs 1 GB of internal memory, 768 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8 GB included), as well as full support for HSDPA (14.4 Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76 Mbps).

As a side note, the smartphone is likely to be launched in the UK and US initially, with the rest of the countries soon to follow.
