HTC has just announced the upcoming availability of HTC Sensation in Ice White. However, this is not an ordinary white-theme smartphone, as HTC confirmed that this version of Sensation would be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board.

According to HTC, the Sensation in Ice White will be available for purchase starting March 1. Although there’s no mention of an international launch of the smartphone, we can safely assume that HTC Sensation in Ice White will be released in Europe.

In addition, HTC’s press release confirms that an Android 4.0 update will soon be rolled out OTA (over the air) to all unlocked HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XE and HTC Sensation XL devices.

Unfortunately, the Taiwanese handset maker does not reveal any exact release dates for the update, but there’s a high chance that some of these Sensation series will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich soon after HTC Sensation in Ice White goes on sale in early March.

As for the specs sheet of the newly announced ICS-based smartphone, HTC confirms it comes with the same features as the gray version.

Aside from the updated software, the HTC Sensation in Ice White will be delivered with a stunning 4.3-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

The phone is powered by a dual core Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, as well as an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit.

Another strong point of the device is the enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording capabilities. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for self-portraits and video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that the Sensation in Ice White should run the latest HTC Sense 4.0 user interface on top of Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
