AT&T might soon become the second wireless carrier in the United States to add the HTC Sensation flagship smartphone to its offering, if some of the latest reports on the matter are to be believed.

Sporting model number HTC PG58110, the HTC Sensation was approved for use in the country with support for 850 / 1900 MHz WCDMA connectivity (WCDMA bands II and V), which makes it fit for AT&T’s HSPA network.

The HTC Sensation was already launched on the market in the United States, on the airwaves of T-Mobile, which will put it for sale on June 15 as Sensation 4G.

At T-Mobile, the handset comes with support for the carrier's HSPA+ network, which is being marketed as the largest 4G network in the United States.

Provided that the new mobile phone is indeed set to hit shelves at AT&T too, it would certainly sport another name, so as to differentiate it from the already released handset.

Of course, there is also the possibility that the Android device would be set to arrive at another wireless carrier, since AT&T is not the only North American operator of those frequencies.

Since nothing was formally announced on the matter for the time being, there's no telling on whether both AT&T and T-Mobile will soon make the high-end device available for their customers or not.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the HTC Sensation was launched on shelves in Europe only a few weeks ago, and that it comes as the latest Android-based flagship handset from HTC.

Running under the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the smartphone packs a dual-core 1.2GHz application processor inside, complemented by 1GB of RAM and over 1GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional space.

The handset also comes with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, as well as with an 8-megapixel photo snapper, with HD video recording capabilities, and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, among other (via).
