HTC Sensation XE has already been confirmed for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade “early this year,” so customers who already purchased the smartphone should not be worried about this

Today, UK-based retailer Clove announced it would offer the white version of the HTC Sensation XE. Moreover, the smartphone is now available for pre-order for £408 (650 USD or 490 EUR) outright.

According to Clove UK, HTC Sensation XE in white is expected to arrive in stock in the week commencing February 20. Although this is not an exact availability date, it’s enough to assume the handset will hit shelves within the next two weeks or so.

On a side note, Android enthusiasts who prefer white-themed smartphone should know that HTC also confirmed it would launch a white HTC Sensation in March. Given the fact that this one will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board, it might worth to wait a few more weeks.

On the other hand, HTC is expected to start rolling out the Android 4.0 upgrade to some of its high-end smartphones, including the HTC Sensation XE. However, when put against each other, Sensation XE is by far the better choice for Android fans.

HTC Sensation XE is the first smartphone to be release since HTC’s announcement last year that it had bought a big chunk of Dr. Dre’s Beats Audio company. The phone comes with Beats Audio hardware and Beats earphones, which improved the audio experience.

For the time being, the Sensation XE runs Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, but it’s scheduled to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in Q1 2012.

It is also worth mentioning that the device is equipped with a powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and packs 4GB onboard memory (1GB user available), 768 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
