Today, Wireless carrier Three UK announced the availability of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Sensation XE smartphones on its airwaves.

The update started to arrive on Sensation devices a few weeks ago, when HTC confirmed plans to have it pushed out to most of its last year’s lineup of Android devices.

The owners of an HTC Sensation XE smartphone at Three UK can now check to see whether the update is available for them straight from the phone.

For that, they will have to go to Menu > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. If the software is available, they will be prompted to download and install it.

Before proceeding with the update, users should make sure that their devices have been fully charged. It is also a great idea to backup all data on the device, to make sure that no personal files are lost during installation.
