Canadian mobile phone carrier Bell Mobility has just announced that it would be carrying the HTC Sensation 4G smartphone on its airwaves in the coming weeks.

The handset was already rumored to be on its way to the Canadian market on the airwaves of Bell, and now all was confirmed, although no specific release date was announced, nor was a price tag unveiled for the mobile phone.

In addition to unveiling the upcoming availability of this smartphone on its airwaves, Bell also put up a special web page for the device, where users can register their interest for receiving updates on the handset, and can enter a contest to win one of ten free Sensation 4G units Bell has for them.

The mobile phone packs a great deal of high-end features, starting with the fast dual-core 1.2GHz application processor and going all the way to the large 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen on the front, or the 8-megapixel photo snapper on its back.

“Equipped with a 1.2Mhz dual-core processor, customers will enjoy a fast and smooth experience when running apps, playing games, multitasking or simply navigating the HTC Sensation 4G. And 4G speeds up to 14.4 Mbps means better browsing and the ability to download apps and attachments in moments,” Bell notes.

“The HTC Sensation 4G superphone is also Bell's first device that allows customers to record and playback video in stunning 1080p full HD to a TV via MHL/HDMI cable or wirelessly with DLNA.

“And watching video on the HTC Sensation 4G will be vibrant and sharp thanks to its 4.3" qHD display with true widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.”

The handset also comes with built-in dual-microphones for noise cancellation, HSDPA support (850/1900/2100), WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, the usual set of sensors, and a front-facing camera for video calling.

The HTC Sensation sports 768MB of RAM, along with 1GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The new device runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, offers support for a wide range of applications available in the Android Market, as well as for various services from Google, such as Search, Maps, YouTube, and more.

Rumor has it that Bell might launch the smartphone on July 4th, or on the 12th of the month, and that the handset would have an approximate retail value of $549.95 Cdn.
