Since HTC announced its two Facebook phones back in February, fans of social network services have been waiting impatiently for the smartphones to become available on the market.

While the HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa are gradually launched globally, Canadian customers can wait and hope that at least one of the two Facebook phones will reach Canadian shores.

Fortunately, after the HTC ChaCha has been confirmed by TELUS, it looks the second Facebook phone will be released soon across the country.

Although no carrier made any comments regarding the HTC Salsa, it appears that the phone has been included within the Canadian HTC Sense portal, which means that its release is imminent.

HTC ChaCha and Salsa are almost the same when it comes to hardware and software, but aim different targets.

While the ChaCha offers users a complete portrait QWERTY keyboard, the HTC Salsa comes with a 3.4-inch capacitive multi-touch screen display.

They were both introduced in February during the 2011 Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, along with HTC's first Android tablet, the Flyer.

In addition to its average size display, HTC Salsa features accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

Even though there is no information about the Canadian version of the Salsa, it is highly unlikely that this will be different than the rest of the models that have already been announced in various parts of the world.

This means that HTC Salsa will be delivered with an 800 Mhz Qualcomm processor and will be powered by Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platform.

Furthermore, the smartphone packs 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as a 5-megapixel main camera and a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

The phone's standard 1520 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide users with up to 445 hours of standby time or up to 9 hours of talk time.
