A few days after the official launch of the HTC ChaCha, the second Facebook-centric phone of the Taiwanese handset manufacturer, the Salsa is now available for purchase in India.

Although HTC India has yet to make any official announcements, the Salsa can now be purchased via online retailer Flipkart for Rs. 20,449 (about $460).

According to the retailer, customers who order the HTC Salsa will be delivered in 4 business days with the Cash on Delivery option that allows them to pay when they actually receive the phone.

HTC Salsa is delivered with 1-year warranty for the phone from HTC India, as well as 6-month warranty for accessories.

Manufactured in close collaboration with Facebook, the HTC Salsa embeds the same specific button that is included with its twin brother, HTC ChaCha.

Labeled as the 'Facebook button', the key will alert users when the content displayed on the screen can be posted on the user's Facebook account.

The personalized button is very useful as it reduces the number of actions a user has to take to login to his Facebook account and post updates.

While the HTC ChaCha comes with a full portrait QWERTY keyboard and a small 2.6-inch touchscreen, the Salsa features a much larger 3.4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen and virtual QWERTY keyboard.

It appears that HTC bumped Salsa's CPU speed to 800 Mhz, though originally was said to carry a 600 MHz processor manufactured by Qualcomm.

This is not the first time HTC tampers with one of its smartphone's hardware ahead of launch, as the HTC ChaCha received the same treatment a few days ago.

In addition, HTC Salsa might be delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board and not a newer Android 2.4 version as the manufacturer stated back in February.

HTC Salsa packs 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as a 5-megapixel main camera and a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
