O2, the largest mobile operator in the UK, now offers its subscribers the HTC S730 smartphone, under the name of Xda Atmos. The device comes to enlarge O2's Xda family of products and is available for prices starting from free, with some data plans, to 110 GBP ($220 or 145 Euro) with some other data plans.

HTC S730 / Xda Atmos is a business orientated handset that will bring users portable email, high speed browsing and over the air (OTA) synchronization. The smartphone measures 105.8 x 51 x 19.4 millimeters, weighs 150 grams, runs on Windows Mobile 6 Standard and has a 2.4 inch TFT display with 65k colors support and a 240 x 320 pixels resolution. Moreover, Xda Atmos offers quad-band GSM connectivity plus 3G/UMTS (2100 MHz), GPRS, HSDPA for data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, Wi-Fi, a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, Pocket Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PDF viewer), Microsoft Push email support, WAP 2.0 and PocketIE browsers, Instant Messaging, picture messaging, Music player (Mp3 and AAC), Video and audio album, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, miniUSB, Java MIDP 2.0, voice dialing and predictive text input.

The re-branded HTC is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7200 CPU at 400 Mhz and packs 64 MB of RAM, 256 MB of ROM and a microSD card slot. There is also a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording and a secondary VGA camera for video calls. Xda Atmos comes with a standard Li-Ion 1050 mAh battery that should provide a talk time of up to 5 hours and a stand-by time of maximum 290 hours.
