Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is widely known for the devices it launched on the market running under Google's Android OS, or under Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform, but the company has other devices in store too.

One of them is the HTC Smart, the first device from the company to land on shelves with the Brew MP platform from Qualcomm, and which is rumored to be expecting a successor in the near future.

Of course, confirmation on this still has to emerge, but it would not come as a surprise if HTC did released a new BrewMP-based mobile phone on the near future, that's for sure.

According to a recent article on PocketNow, a rendering of the device already emerged into the wild (courtesy of Russian site YouHTC), and it can easily prove that Smart is set to have a pair soon.

The rendering shows three buttons on the front of this device, including Call Start, Back and Call End, and the HTC Smart is the only device that previously had them on its front.

Moreover, it seems that no HTC mobile phone sporting these buttons would be fit for Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile or Android, which leaves BrewMP as the only possible option.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are no exact details available on the hardware specifications this device should land on shelves with, though it might sport similar capabilities as its predecessor.

In case there are some who might not remember, we should note that HTC Smart landed with a QVGA touchscreen display on the front, while being powered by a 300 MHz processor, and packing a nice range of connectivity options.

For the time being, however, we'll leave this in the rumor side, though we won't be surprised if it actually pans out in the end, so stay tuned to learn more on this device.
