Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation reportedly plans the launch of no less than 8 new devices via T-Mobile this year. For what it's worth, considering the number of new handsets that HTC should launch on the market during the ongoing year, as unveiled by the previously leaked roadmap, this plan seems to be quite a bold one.

On the other hand, BGR says that the 8 SKUs in question also include current products, meaning that devices like the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Edition, which is expected to land at the carrier in a matter of days, is also included in the list, and the same applies to the already announced HTC HD2. However, it is still uncertain whether Nexus One is also included in the count, since it is not being sold via T-Mobile at the moment.

At the same time, the report says that HTC aims at delivering an equal number of Android and Windows Mobile-based handsets to T-Mobile in 2010. This comes as great news for Android enthusiasts at T-Mobile, as there will be more handsets for them to choose from, but also for Windows Mobile fans, since this shows that HTC is still committed to release handsets powered by Microsoft's mobile operating system.

In related news, we learn that HTC's Executive Director, Jon French, has recently had a chat with Mobile Entertainment, during which he said that the company did not favor a mobile OS in front of another when it came to its Sense UI, “We don’t favour any OS over another. Nor are we tied to them; we look at all options.” This means that one should expect for the company's future devices to come around with Sense on them, regardless they run under Android, WM or Brew MP.

One thing that we won't see from HTC is an app store: “We have no plans for an app store. HTC is not in that business. For us, it’s all about how you integrate the app store – whether Windows Marketplace or Android Market – into the experience of using the device.” The entire interview is available on ME website here.
