Still unofficial, the HTC Rhyme smartphone (aka Bliss) is expected to make an appearance on shelves at Target Mobile starting with September 22nd, while being set to become available for pre-order on September 21st. The mobile phone has been long rumored to be on its way to the market as a women-oriented device, and it seems that HTC is finally gearing up for its release.

Moreover, the handset is expected to arrive on shelves at Verizon Wireless as HTC Rhyme, most probably set to become available before the end of this week.

For the time being, however, no specific info on the handset's availability and pricing at Big Red has emerged, though an official unveiling is imminent.

Verizon has already put on its website a sign up page for the HTC Rhyme, where users interested in it can introduce their email address to receive details on the availability.

The mobile phone comes along with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that should deliver a WVGA resolution, and packs a 1GHz application processor inside.

The specifications list for the new device also includes 768MB of RAM, along with 4G of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot, so that users can expand the available storage space.

Moreover, the new mobile phone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for 720p video recording capabilities, and a front camera to enable users make and receive video calls.

The new device is also said to include a 1,600mAh battery, and to run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, with the new HTC Sense 3.5 user interface loaded on top of it.

One other interesting feature of the new mobile phone is its “charm,” which will glow whenever there is a missed call or a message waiting to be read. Users will be able to plug it into the 3.5mm headphone jack, it seems.
